Contractors/Vendors
A valid UNCG parking permit must be displayed from the rearview mirror of all employee vehicles at all times when parked on University property. Failure to display a permit or misuse of a permit may result in fines, booting, towing, and/or loss of campus parking privileges. Vehicles displaying a permit must be registered.
Parking permits are the property of UNCG Parking Operations and Campus Access Management (POCAM). Permits may not be sold, given away, transferred, or borrowed. The permit holder on record is responsible for all violations.
If you choose to purchase a parking permit, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with campus parking regulations, NC state laws for motorized vehicle operators, as well as campus safety guidelines for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists. UNCG is a bicycle and pedestrian friendly campus so please obey all safety guidelines for the benefit of the entire campus community.
SERVICE PERMITS
Contractor/vendor service permit fees for vehicles with commercial or personal tags are:
· $5 per day - surface lots only*
· $35 per month - surface lots only*
· $311 per year - surface lots only†
· $458 per year - deck permit†
Note: Due to Dining Hall renovation, vendors/contractors associated with the project will be eligible for TRV (Temporary Restricted Vendor) permit. Permit is valid in lots 7, 8, 9, 1A and 1C for $35 per month.
*non-refundable and non-replaceable.
†Must be approved before purchasing.
Surface lot service permits may be utilized in:
· Spaces designated for service vehicles
· Spaces designated for A,B,C or E permits
· Walker Avenue Parking Deck (2 hour limit)
Only as a last resort may service permits be used at meters and only for the specified time limit — up to 30 minutes near some residence halls and up to 2 hours near some academic and administrative buildings.
To purchase a Service permit please come to the Parking Operations Office with your vehicle tag information. The office is located adjacent to the Walker Avenue Parking Deck. The office is open Monday – Friday 7:30am to 5pm.
RESTRICTIONS
No parking in driving lanes, fire lanes, tow away zones, handicap accessible spaces, reserved spaces, on sidewalks or grass, under tree canopies, or any area not specifically designated for parking. Also, please do not block dumpsters.
Remember, streets and service areas must always be accessible for emergency vehicles.
PAY-BY-HOUR PARKING
Short term parking may be available in a deck or at a meter. Deck rate is $2 first hour and $1 for each consecutive hour. $7 per day/entry maximum. Three decks are open for pay-by-hour parking on a space available basis:
· McIver Street Parking Deck - no cashier - cash only for Exit Express machine
· Oakland Avenue Parking Deck - cashier only during academic year: M-Th 10-9:30, F 10-5:00
· Walker Avenue Parking Deck - cashier 24/7; accepts VISA and MC
Meters are located throughout campus. The meter rate is 25¢ per 15 minutes. Please do not re-feed meters after the time limit has been reached.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
Space may be reserved for project parking, staging and/or deliveries. For assistance, please stop by the parking office adjacent to the Walker Avenue Parking Deck or call 334-5681.
SUMMER PARKING
Service vehicles may be registered at no cost to park in lots 1A or 1C during the summer. Lot 1A is near the intersection of Aycock Street and Oakland Avenue, behind Jack’s Corner Mediterranean Deli. Lot 1C is located at 1621 Spring Garden Street, between CVS and Tahiti Tan. Summer Parking ends 8/9/2013. Permit required after that time.
